I mean that is fantastic. I hope it ends up on all platforms. My only concern is that, by being a timed-exclusive xbox one launch, it will hurt the launching of Phantasy Star Online 2 withholding it’s PC launch, which is where I envision (maybe incorrectly) that the majority of the playerbase for Phantasy Star Online 2 is. And they’re doing so with no advantages (console sales) which timed-exclusive launches are used for. It’s possible, but my experience with FFXIV tells me that PC players constitute the large bulk of the western playerbase, also due to this PS4 userbase being considerably larger than the Xbox userbase this gen, I think that big majority is going to be split even more in favor of PC for Phantasy Star Online 2 (in regards to Xbox One/PC split).
I agree, and that’s why I am concerned the health of Phantasy Star Online 2 at launch is going to be very bad, because it’s a Xbox One exclusive. Till we receive a PC release it might be a number of months after Xbox release. The PC launch can revitalize Phantasy Star Online 2 to keep it alive, presuming the Xbox release is as lifeless as I imagine it being. Maybe I’m being overly pessimistic and don’t know Xbox userbase enough, however I really don’t watch Phantasy Star Online 2 having multiple thousand users months on US Xbox One gamers only.
There is no reason not to go play with it and get PSO2 Meseta the enthusiast dictionary if you’re itching to play with it. You wont get banned for logging in from someplace that’s not Japan so you do not require a VPN. The translation covers most up everything to chapter 4 so that you dont have to know any Japanese in any way. Phantasy Star Online 2 is in a fantastic spot at the moment and it’s fun although it is not at all like the original PSO (theres a good thing for the most part). It’s absolutely free, so you have nothing. Just dont get overly invested because you will not have the ability to transfer progress.
Some things need 12+ individuals to beat, but an extremely large chunk (possibly the majority) could be played solo. Grantedwe only ever played Super Hard, and not the Ultra Hard mode (all quests have difficulty alternatives, so technically in the event you want to solo things you could just play everything on simple lol). As for grind, I really don’t know the way the launch is but PSO2 is kinda in the Sunset phase. Only a few more years of service. As such, they’re boosting the hell out of gamers, passing out countless EXP and Meseta (cash ). Near all equipment can be Phantasy Star Online 2 Meseta purchased for in game cash, or you may complete missions for certifications that give high end equipment to you.
